Status 4-18-15*

Yesterday

Well I DID it, I put on CLOTHES! Hooray! I also drove down to the local park to create another episode for day 110. Of course, I’m kind of scared to re-listen to the sucker because I think I was pretty loopy and my voice was very, very tired. I noticed during our editing session I had to remove MANY more annoying mouth sounds out of the file than I have had to do in months and months. I think it was due to dehydration.

But at least I had help and company during this wacky editing process…

My faithful co-editor advises me on tweaking episode 110’s audio file. He KNOWS when it’s time to edit, and straight on the lap he flies!

Today

I’m going off to voice acting coaching with David today – though just how MUCH I can accomplish remains to be seen. However, I don’t want to stop my progress just because I had a bump in the road. I’ll try to take it as a great chance to learn what can be done if you need to speak and your voice isn’t in top shape.

Status 4-16-15*

Yesterday

Started feeling better – better enough to use my humor to work through the graphic details of my surprising bout with tummy sickness. Thanks for the get well wishes BCs. Hugs! They made a HUGE difference to my attitude and encouraged me to take my days step by step and to let my body work things out with as much rest, liquid and compassion as possible. Hey, not a bad way to live MOST days, eh?

Today

I’m very weak, but feeling MUCH more like myself. I might drive down to the park and walk a little today to try and build my energy back up. If not, I’ll at least wear clothes instead of jammies today. Feeling like perking up. Danger is in doing too much. Body takes time to recover after a bout like this one. But if I am patient, body WILL snap back fairly quickly. Still not hungry at all, though the nausea is much abated. Good thing I made a big bowl of white rice yesterday. A good all purpose tummy meal. I’m really starting to like the all natural ginger ale Mark bought me too. It’s MEANT to be used as mixer with rum or bourbon (*blech* doesn’t sound good AT ALL), but as a stand alone ginger drink, pretty refreshing and does make my tummy feel more quiet.

Yesterday (and night before)

Violently sick – possibly food poisoning, possibly stomach bug, but probably the former. Will spare you details or photos of this one. Down for the count.

Today

Recovering but still weak, and not spending much time out of bed or sofa. So no worries if you don’t see me online or answering comments and/or email, I will when I feel better.

Status 4-12-15*

Happy Birthday Sandy!

Today is BC Sandy’s birthday and I hope it brings TONS of fun and joy to you my friend. I Sooo enjoyed our walk and talk duet episode last Friday.

Yesterday

As part of our house beautification, Mark replanted our “Secret Garden” at the top of the stair. (Moi is a plant serial murderess who killed the prior garden with neglect. )
It made me Soooooo depressed to see these pitiful, poor dead plant victims every time I descended from my bedroom down into my day.I begged Mark for mercy and to teach me his wise ways of plant care.

Here is the wonderful result.

Here is the ‘secret garden’ located at the top of our stairs that sweetie Mark just recreated for me . Of note, this tiffany hanging lamp is my miracle lamp. I can’t remember If I told that story, but I will next show. Every time I see this lamp it reminds me to take action and ‘expect the impossible’.

Sooo glad the house cleaning is DONE DONE DONE Yaaaaaayyyyyyyyaaaaayyyy! I know, I know, the house will need cleaning again. Just like you can’t diet down to a certain weight, say “I’m done” and then pop right back to your old eating habits and issues without the weight popping right back up too, the house needs regular upkeep. For today though, “I’m DONE!” I literally can take a day off without turning my house into a mortifying dusty house of horrors again. BUT I am committed to “House Maintenance”.

Good thing we had a clean house too. Mark’s relatives gathered here yesterday prior to going to a family event. I was here part of the time, but had to bow out early for my voice acting class. Most of these relatives I had not ever met, and I was glad first impressions weren’t going to be framed by dust bunnies making it impossible to lay the baby down and junk laying around for kids and elders to trip over. One of the fun events of the day, is that I practiced my voice acting for the kids, and they laughed and felt I did well. I had them help me with my homework, by doing my parts in character and having the kids tell me when my voice was going ‘out of character’. They also enjoyed learning about animation scripts and laughed when I also practiced by watching some “Sponge Bob Square Pants” and imitating every character and sound that came on screen. (for voice placement practice).

Mark’s family went off to their event with Mark. I cleaned up the snacks he’d put out and went off to class.

I had so much fun, and improved a lot. Unfortunately, as I suspected, I can’t put these takes in the show, though I CAN possibly add them to a blog as separate example files. So I might let those of you regular blog readers hear one of my acting adventures in video game and animation in future.

Status 4-10-15*

Yesterday

Crazy LONG day of cleaning! My designer bathroom is BEAUTIFUL but is the world’s worse bathroom to clean. 7, count ’em 7 types of surfaces, ALL needing a different cleaner and/or method. Every thing that could be a single surface has a bevel. Every thing that could be in arm’s reach is two feet about my head. Cleaning is a dizzying feat of balance, step stools and tub grab bars. I need a special cupboard JUST for the dang master bath cleaning products.

Note to self: SCREW LOOKS go practical next time!

Also did the master bedroom from top to bottom. (Thank GOD I didn’t let my designer talk me into dumping my favorite drapes that can actually be washed and rehung in one day). Moved it all, washed it all. Dusted it all, vacuumed months of cat hair out of everything. WOW, I even slept without waking from being stuffed up by allergies. I guess I need to continue keeping things up. I breathe much better!

Today

HOORAY! Cleaning is about done, just a few minor jobs. I need to finish washing all of the bedding and tidy a few drawers, but overall DONE, DONE, DONE! I am exhausted.
But today BC Sandy and I are taking a walk down to the local park. I thought about weaseling yesterday when I was so tired, but then let myself be brave and told myself, “No dang it, you WANT to see Sandy, don’t make an excuse”. Instead I went to bed early so as to have energy today. Boy I’m glad I did and I’m really looking forward to the chance to catch up with my in-person BC friend.

BTW, if you are in, or near the Los Angeles area, or are planning to be, I would love to take a walk or hike with you if our schedules permit. Let me know and you TOO can experience the beautiful Descanso Gardens or set some rocks in the Upper Zen places. Recording for the show is optional. πŸ™‚
