Resource of the day
12 ways to become proud of your body. by Margarita Tartakovsky, MS on the blog, PsychCentral. Great list how to move your focus off of what’s wrong with your body and onto what do you want in life.
Ah! Thank you for the bulldog! I’m sorry you had to do all that editing work, but I really appreciate it. You nailed it! You were so bulldoggy I almost didn’t recognize you! So good.
Okay, back to listening.
Ooh that was a quick one! Haha. Sure was a treat, though.
Here’s to all the BCs and all the Ks in the world!
LOL! This my dear, used to be the NORMAL size of the show when I was putting them out 2-4 times per week. Now, I’m too busy for that, but the bonus episodes let me get one in the can pretty quickly since I don’t have as much writing and organizing to do. Bonus episodes I pretty much do on the fly. I knew what Cheryl’s call was about enough I could wing it, and my bulldog bit. The rest was just what was on my mind. xoxoxoxoxoxo
Hey Suzanne, it was my pleasure, and it turned out not to be too bad. Our timing was so consistent it was easy to fit my ‘lady’s’ response into the bulldog. I actually did the dog take 1 and as you heard, Marc had no notes, so I didn’t do it twice. I did the lady twice, but pretty much the same both times, so just grabbed from take 2. I’m sorry I didn’t get my partner’s permission, as the bit is better with our different voices. But as I said, not as big an editing deal as I thought. (I recorded all of day 101 in Ventura, including the bulldog intro, then did the editing later that evening at home when I produced the show.) Thanks for asking! xoxoxoxox
Hi Laurie! I really liked your “bulldog” voice too. That was a fun one! That was very brave of you to advocate for yourself by reaching out to try and resolve your uncomfortable seat situation. I say you’re on the Bravery Report for that one!
Thanks Fionna, I liked the dog voice, but honestly, don’t think I achieved it in a way that is good for my vocal chords. The first way I tried was REALLY bad and hurt a lot. This voice, not so much, but I couldn’t use it on a real job where I might need 20 takes or as a cartoon character. I’m still figuring out physically what I can do to change my register. That’s why I was SO PISSED to have this bit. The assigned one was supposed to be like Mr. Bill, or high Mickey Mouse – right in my wheelhouse. I can do HIGH SQUEAKY with ease. But my partner said she could not go high at all, so Marc changed us to the low bit, where she was more comfortable. If I hadn’t been doing singing lessons and working in my low-middle range, I could not have gone as low as I did. So More scales for me 🙂
