Looking Good! I adjust my new straw hat and head out the door to the park.

Podcast Recap

Totally stressed out from a podcast technological disaster, I head off to the park to blow off steam. I’m encouraged by a call from Sarah from Wisconsin on the bravery hotline. Kendra asks our opinion on what replaces food and do we mourn our old relationship with food? Helen is a knock out during Foolish Fun. Diane the champion is on the bravery report for calling directly following a binge and for her great plan to deal with it. Brave Companion Suz shares inspiring songs on Facebook.
Stretch of park with trees overhead and a busy street at the border.

You can see the street that borders the park. Between the dogs, cars and helicopters, it’s a challenge today to beat the noise.

Thumbs up for a bright and early walk and talk to beat the heat. 6:30 a.m. I leave my house to head to down to the park to record.

Podcast Recap

I ponder my sudden burst of body shame and explore possible reasons why I feel I may disappoint listeners and myself. I tell about a cool Facebook group, Operation Global Change that supports the body acceptance movement. I update my Amazon page to include my favorite things and thank the generous shoppers who use the Compulsive Overeating Diary link for USA, UK and Canada. I listen to the Coffee Klatch and update my buttons on their feedback and advice. Finally, the Unknown Foolish Funner makes us all feel good!

Street view at 6:30 a.m. Cars are parked along the road and a bank of flowers grow on one side of the sidewalk.

You can see what the street looks like on the way to the park by “dawn’s early light”. My downhill neighbor has pretty flowers AND a big dog! (You can hear him in episode 1…one reason I don’t record on the way DOWN anymore, but wait until I reach the park).

Street in shadow and the park already in full sun at 7:00 a.m.

Almost 7:00 AM and you can already tell it’s gonna be a scorcher today!

Here I am with Paul Gilmartin following our interview for his very successful podcast, “The Mental Illness Happy Hour.”

Podcast Recap

Thanks to Brave Companion Jenny, I was interviewed by comedian, Paul Gilmartin for his very successful podcast, The Mental Illness Happy Hour. I spill how it all went down and have a special gratitude surprise for Jenny. Thanks too to Garden Girl KP who kindly reviewed this show on her weight maintenance blog and who gave the show a 5 star review on iTunes. I ponder letting go of assumptions, welcome new listener Sofia from Sweden who reaches out via FB, and place new listener Amy on the Bravery Report for not only contacting me via the contact form, but for stepping up and calling the bravery hotline immediately after a compulsive eating experience to talk it through with us vs. beating herself up. Brava Amy! Last, but not least, Brave Companion, Dawny makes show history by being the FIRST BC to call for Foolish Fun. Thanks too to more brave companions who have shown their support to the show financially.

Just like we can have days where we feel fat, the day I recorded episode 65 I felt like my middle was feeling more fit so I snapped this selfie of it. Not so much to say my body looks good, but to remember *I* FELT it looked good. We can be so picky and down on ourselves. I’m happy to record moments of self-kindness.

Parkland grass and trees

I recorded here, at the park, following our bike ride on Monday. It was SO bright and hot. My podcast rock is located beyond the group of trees to the left.

Podcast Recap

Despite being plagued by flies on top of the mountain, I have an epic realization about my compulsive eating identity. Shout-outs to Helen for her bravery and to Misha from Canada for a kind iTunes review. Cheryl poses a question to us in response to my Miracle Plate blog post. Is it possible to have fun without eating? Stéfanie from Quebec, Stephanie from Germany and I have a comment discussion about intuitive exercise and just how dependent on gadgets we are to tell us how we’re doing. I wonder if anyone will EVER want to have Foolish Fun, and Alen Standish, from the Progress Not Perfection podcast, is a surprise guest expert during Stéfanie’s Secret Topic.

Therapy is tough, so after sharing my experience I lighten the mood by introducing a new feature called Foolish Fun.
